Custom Furniture

The furniture in your home should be beautiful, functional and a reflection of your personality. Let Blue Fox Workshop work with you to design and create pieces of furniture to meet all your needs. There are many advantages to custom furniture. We design our pieces to fit your lifestyle and space. Need narrow table to fit between a chair and couch, we can do that. Want a table to be a very specific height or fit an awkward space, we can do that too. All that an no annoying hex keys, packages of bolts and assembly instructions that take an engineering degree to comprehend!

We primarily create stand alone furniture pieces and do not currently produce onsite, built-in type products. All our furniture is produced in our workshop and then delivered and set-up in your space.

We can create many different furniture styles. If you are in need of a table we can build dining tables, occasional tables, end tables, desks and even workbenches! Should you need a small kitchen island, we can build you one that can be easily moved with integrated (even retractable) casters.

For the bedroom you can work with us to design and create side-tables, dressers and headboards. We have built Murphy Beds to help clients maximize their space.

Bookshelves and entertainment centers are also well within our wheelhouse.

Contact us today to start the design process on your new custom furniture piece.

Cutting Boards

All Blue Fox Workshop cutting boards start with premium hardwoods, primarily maple, ash, walnut and cherry. Exotic woods, such as wenge, purple heart, padauk and others are combined in some boards to provide color accents and bring out even more character in the board. Juice Grooves, Milled Handles and Rubber Feet can be added as well as laser engraved personalization.

We only use high quality, food-safe finishes on our boards that not only protect the wood but enhances the natural beauty of each piece. We provide each client with our own Blue’s Better Board Butter to keep your board protected and vibrant. Additional board refreshing kits can be easily ordered by contacting the workshop.

If you do not see a board in our inventory with the wood species or size you desire, contact us at the workshop and we can discuss the process and pricing to build a special board just for you!

Charcuterie Boards

Our charcuterie boards add an elegant touch to any occasion. Whether a party with friends, or a quiet evening with someone special, your charcuterie board from Blue Fox Workshop will make an impression.

Our charcuterie boards are made with the same premium hardwoods as our cutting boards, as well as other exotic wood species such as purple heart, padauk, wenge, and bubinga to add a bit of color and character.

All our charcuterie boards will have a milled handle for ease of moving your goodie laden board to the table. These boards are thinner and lighter than a traditional cutting board and are not recommended for heaving cutting/chopping. These are for serving and light cutting only.

Laser Engraving

Here in the workshop we have a laser system that allows us the ability to create custom engravings a many different materials.

We produce a number of home accessory products including slate or wood coasters, phone and table holders and jewelry boxes.

Put your high definition photo of a loved one or pet and put it on slate or wood. We can also customize powder coated water bottles and even make a unique wooden name badge.

Of course we are happy to add that special custom touch to all of our products here in the workshop so that your item can be special and unique. Custom engraving can commemorate special events or be a unique thank you to your work team.

Adrian, Greeley, CO

I highly recommend Marc at Blue Fox Workshop. Marc crafted a cutting board with our last name on it! He did so with quality and craftsmanship. The ordering, production and receiving took place in a timely manner and went without a hitch! I appreciate Marc's Colorado small business and fully support his endeavor. If you are in the market for quality wood products Marc is going to be your go-to guy!

Logan, Colorado Springs, CO

I purchased 6 sets of the custom slate coasters as Christmas gifts for my coworkers and they were a big hit! I was really amazed at how much detail is in the laser engraving. Each coaster set came with a customized holder that included their name and our company logo. Very well done!

I have known Marc for over 30 years and consider him to be a personal friend. As impressed as I am with Marc’s artistic talents through his amazing creations at Blue Fox Workshop, I remain even more impressed over these decades with who Marc is as a person. That person is the very basis for Marc’s related talents. They are intrinsically intertwined. I am just one of the beneficiaries of Marc’s artistry at Blue Fox. I recommend him without pause.

Grant - Torrance, CA

Blue Fox Workshop built an entire murphy bed over the course of one weekend. The planning beforehand was great so that all parts and lumber were ordered and waiting before Marc arrived to build it. He was professional, kept the area clean and was good at communicating what was needed before and during the project. While he was around, we discussed what other items he makes, and he shared images of his cutting boards. It was a perfect solution to a wedding gift that I needed and ordered one before he finished the murphy bed. He engraved and shipped it directly to the newlyweds and it was a big hit. Marc does beautiful work and takes the time to do it right the first time and takes pride in what he does.

Why are costs Variable?

The high quality materials used in producing our products are primarily from nature and the cost of these materials can vary widely based on availability and supply chain issues. We have recently seen the price of all wood species, even the normally "cheap" wood found at the local home centers skyrocket. We price our products fairly and adjust accordingly based on the market.

Other variables include the amount of material used, additional upgrades, additional cost for the exotic hardwoods that may be used as well as the time to design and produce our creations.

FAQ image

What types of wood do you use?

Our cutting boards and charcuterie boards are primarily created from maple, cherry and walnut. These hardwood species are well suited for this purpose as they are hard enough to take the abuse of food preparation yet are not as hard on kitchen knives as glass, hard plastic or bare countertops (yikes!).

For accent woods we use imported purple heart, padauk, wenge, and other colorful hardwood species. Softer woods such as cedar (non-aromatic) can be used for serving purposes only.

For furniture we use a wide variety of domestic wood species. Walnut, white oak, cherry, mahogany are all good choices for furniture. Other exotic woods can be added into the design to provide color and character to any project.

What kind of ongoing care will my Cutting Board or Charcuterie Board need?

With a little bit of attention your board should give you years of service. We provide each board recipient with detailed instructions on the care of the board as well as some of our own Blue's Better Board Butter to periodically recondition the board.

In a nut-shell, first and foremost you want to prevent damage. NEVER wash a wooden board in the dishwasher. This is the fastest way to ruin a board due to the extremely high heat and pressure. Boards should be washed by hand under running hot water with a mild dish soap, rinsed and towel dried. Do not leave a board submerged in water or allow water to pool on the board for any significant length of time.

Periodically you will need to use a food safe wood conditioner on your board to restore the board's appearance and protection. Generally once a month or whenever the board looks "dry" you should use a lint free cloth to rub on small amount of conditioner on all surfaces of the board, let it sit for about 20 minutes then buff off the excess.
